Forest Farm Peace Garden took part in the Hainault Community Hub Belonging Project in partnership with Redbridge Council.
We recorded stories from people that come to our garden of what belonging means for them and how the garden has helped their journey of recovery. Listen below to some of our stories.
Here are some more inspiring oral histories about our apple orchard.
The apples of Forest Farm Peace Garden
We showcased our oral histories at the Belonging Project launch event on Saturday 18 June at Hainault Forest Community Association together with local community partners. We were pleased to connect with the local community and promote the benefits of what we do to inspire more people to get involved.
The Belonging Project has brought together communities across Hainault and Fairlop to take part in a local arts exhibition to start a conversation about how we belong to our neighbourhoods and each other. Coordinated by Redbridge Council's Community Hubs Programme, the partners include Forest Academy School, Link Place, Inclusive Communities, Hainault Forest Community Association, Hainault Youth Club, Forest Farm Peace Garden, and a range of faith groups. Works exhibited ranged from mosaics and photography to oral histories and lyric writing.
